About
Croswait Custom Composites builds custom boats and runs a full-service marine yard on Harbor Road in Wanchese, on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. The company describes itself as built on three generations of boatbuilding and says its shops work with modern techniques and materials on wooden, fiberglass and carbon fiber vessels.
Its signature model is the Croswait Custom Carolina 21, a shallow-water skiff for hunting, fishing and day cruising that is built to each owner’s choice of options. The company has also posted about production of numbered 21-foot hulls, including a basic model without premium finishes, and about starting construction of the Croswait 24 with a deeper-V hull. Other projects listed on its site include a 57-foot custom sailing catamaran and a Tribute 37.
Through Croswait Marine Services, the team repairs and rebuilds sportfishing motor yachts and catamaran sailboats of 48 feet and larger, as well as smaller skiffs and dinghies. The shop also makes fighting chairs, display cases, helm pads, boarding mats and a dockside beverage machine. Service hours run 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, with office hours from 8:30 a.m.
