Load Trail started building trailers in 1996 as a small family-owned business with one shop, a few acres and 31 employees. It is still family owned and operated, and its facilities have grown to more than 500,000 square feet on 100 acres across three locations in Sumner, Sulphur Springs and Como, with more than 500 employees. Corporate offices are in Sumner, Texas, and the company says it is a leading national brand with more than 400 dealers.

The lineup includes gooseneck and bumper-pull deckovers, dump trailers, tilt trailers, car and equipment haulers, and utility and landscape trailers. Car and equipment haulers come in tandem or triple axle with ratings from 7,000 to 24,000 pounds GVWR, landscape and utility trailers run up to 7,000 pounds, and redesigned tank trailers are rated from 7,000 to 9,990 pounds for farm and ranch use.

Load Trail once sold trailers under two names, Load Trail and Load Max, and has since merged them under Load Trail, using MAX for premium options such as MAX-Step, MAX-Rail, MAX-Ramp and MAX-Bed. The company won Fastest Growing Trailer Brand of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and a Green Manufacturing Award in 2015 for its powder coat pretreatment process.
